The contributions were presented in Session Città, comunità e infrastrutture sostenibili. Smart cities and communities, which integrate different urban infrastructures in a rational and efficient manner, are essential in addressing the challenges posed by the evolving urban context. Green and blue infrastructure, Nature-based Solutions and climate action solutions are tools that can be used to deliver ecosystem services, reconcile sustainability and resilience in urban ecosystems, and move towards climate change adaptation. With the aim of promoting the path towards sustainable cities, the creation of decentralised networks in which the active and informed participation of community members is required is a key factor. A holistic approach to supporting the design, management and use of urban areas that enhances sustainability, energy efficiency, operational efficiency, circularity and resilience should be a methodological reference model.
